connect provides an option to extend nodes in your script via shortcut.  so you can add extensions to certain reads, cameras etc via python. the connection shortcuts are stored inside the scripts and will be available after restart as well.

there is no limit in terms of how many “connects” you want to set but only the first 9 will receive a shortcut.
